£60,000 for pregnant lap-dance waitress

Samantha McGaw, 27, the head waitress at the Spearmint Rhino lap-dancing club in London who was suspended when she became pregnant has been awarded £60,000 compensation for sex discrimination, breach of contract and hurt feelings. She claimed that there was a "lack of respect" for women and that dancers and waitresses were described at management meetings she attended as "mingers" and "wildebeest".
Max Clifford, publicist for Spearmint Rhino, said the club would appeal and claimed that McGaw was suspended because of complaints about her conduct by members of staff and customers."

Eastern European women could be exploited in lap dancing clubs due to open in Ulster. She believes there may be legal loopholes which could allow women to be brought to the Province to work in the clubs through human trafficking.
